We felt extremely privileged to host a delegation from Solomon Islands this week including the remarkable leaders Ms Linda Wate, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Mr Adrian Dorovia, Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Ms Doreen Alfred - Director, Solomon Islands Tertiary Education and Skills Authority, Dr Patricia Rodie, Dean of Faculty of Education and Humanities, Solomon Islands National University, Ms Leonora Houma, Head of Department, Language and Communication, Solomon Islands National University Australia, Ms Fiona Maelasi, Deputy Principal, St John’s Primary School Victoria and Mr David Miller, Program Manager, Education, Australian High Commission, Solomon Islands. Wow! What an extraordinary group connecting with our student leaders and experiencing the Strathfield Girls High School magic!
This cultural exchange was a vibrant celebration of diversity and learning with these highly esteemed leaders sharing a traditional folk song, and fascinating insights into their education system. The visit truly enriched our understanding of the Solomon Islands' culture. Our students and staff were deeply inspired by the warmth and connection fostered during their visit. It was a wonderful opportunity to build bridges of friendship and understanding across the globe. Our visitors were so impressed with the maturity, depth and openness of our students and were so grateful for the opportunity to connect.
