P&C News

P&C NewsWrap for the 2021 Year!

Despite the challenges of 2021 it was possible to move forward with positivity (and Zoom!).

The SGHS P&C continued supporting our Girls and wonderful Staff through sourcing additional items for their education.

These included:

  • Part A of the Senior Commercial Kitchen Refit - 5 x Gas Burner Ranges plus stainless steel mobile and fixed benches and Salamander, funded by a $15,000 Community Grant and $38,987 P&C Contribution,
  • Continuation of improvements to external lighting along Albert Road, (near the Gymnasium) which provides a sustainable and well-lit environment in what was previously a very dark area.  This was funded through an $8,000 Grant from WestConnex,
  • A new dance floor for the Dance, Drama and Yoga students.  This was funded through a $7,845 Grant from the Strathfield Sports Club,
  • Funding for new Cultural and Language supplies for the Language Students, $4,000.  This was funded jointly via a Strathfield Council Grant and the P&C,
  • Supply of new uniforms for School Sport Teams $3,230,
  • Breakfast Club Contribution of $600,
  • Yr7 Welcome BBQ $1,294,
  • Fridge Magnet Calendar for 2021 $400.
  • Towards the end of the year we received a $30,000 grant which together with an additional contribution of $10,000 from the P&C will be put towards Part B of the Senior kitchen re-fit to be completed in 2022.

The P&C Uniform shop continued their hard work, with thanks to 'Ofa and Vicky selling good quality pre-loved uniforms and collected $1,157.

There were another 5 grants written which unfortunately were not successful but did not deter us from continuing to try!

We are very grateful to all of the organisations that supported the school during the year.

The P&C would like to thank all of the Executive, Teachers Staff, and Parents for their continued huge contribution to the Girls' education and well-being.
