Once Upon a Stage: Drama Students Enchant Audiences with Fairytale Production!

“It begins like a fairytale...”

Year 11 Drama has been busy immersing themselves in the world of Matt Cameron’s Contemporary Australian play, Ruby Moon!

They have been learning about the ‘Elements of Production’ as they workshop scenes from this wonderfully disturbing take on a fractured fairytale. Year 11 Drama students are taking risks with new performance approaches and learning about how the elements of production can be manipulated to evoke specific moods and atmospheres. They will continue to experiment with set design, lighting, costume and sound choices over the next few weeks to bring the ideas, characters and situations in this play to life.

In the meantime, they are raising some insightful questions and observations about the text as they continue to explore the playwright’s intent through experiential learning!
