ANZAC Service

During the school holidays, on Anzac Day, School captain Natalia Costis-Haldikis and Vice Captain Youngsun Yoo represented Strathfield Girls at the Burwood RSL Anzac Dawn Service at the Burwood Memorial Arch where they laid a wreath on behalf of the school at the official ceremony. Natalia was also given the great honour of reading a poem during the service.

Later that day school leaders, including our Junior Vocal Ensemble accompanied by Mr Lau attended the Cumberland RSL Sub branch Commemoration held at our local Davey Square Memorial. They sang “Always Remember “. The lyrics of the song draw our attention to the personal and intimate experience of the ANZACs. Underlying the global conflict between governing powers were the young men and women whose sacrifice and stories we will never forget.

It is great to see our students demonstrate leadership in the wider community as we reflect on this national day of commemoration.
