This term, our Year 8 students in Technology have been busy combining their agricultural and culinary skills to create some tasty dishes in the Paddock to Plate Food Technology unit. In the garden, students embraced the challenge of growing their own vegetable or herb garden. Under the guidance of their teachers, they’ve learned how to plant, care for, and harvest a variety of herbs and vegetables successfully. Students experiencing firsthand how plants thrive in different weather conditions and learnt to nurture and take care of their plant for harvest.
As part of their final assessment task, Year 8 students learnt the importance of using fresh, locally grown produce in preparing a healthy and delicious meal and the results were nothing short of impressive. With a wide variety of meals on display, from herb-infused pasta and pizza to vibrant stir fry and noodles, the results were beautiful.
