During the last week, Strathfield Girls High School had its inaugural Wellbeing Week Festival, a whole-school initiative aimed at fostering positive mental health and wellbeing. The event invited students, staff, and parents to participate in a variety of activities which had been designed to nurture emotional and mental wellness. The festival started with the Trivia Afternoon facilitated by our 2025 Prefect team. On Tuesday during the Roll Call time in the morning, a video, thoughtfully prepared by the
members of our Student Representative Council (SRC), was played to all students. The topic was in line with the Mental Health Month’s 2024 theme, "Let’s Talk About It".
Many games that are relevant to supporting wellbeing were played during Recess or
Lunchtimes, supported by SRC. On Thursday, parents were invited to attend an evening Parent Seminar, facilitated by Genevieve Muir, Parenting Expert from the Connected Parenting. The week was finished with year group picnics on the school hockey field on
Friday with free coffee for staff and milkshakes for students from the school Art Espresso in the morning. Thank you to everyone who participated and made Wellbeing Week a memorable experience. It was truly a week of growth, connection, and community spirit.
Let’s continue to keep the positive momentum going as we carry these wellness practices forward in our daily lives! A big Thumb-Up to Ms Farah, Mr Koulouris and the school Wellbeing Team for the hard work to make the event possible.
