Yr 10 PASS - Girls Get Active Day
On the 6th of March, the Year 9 and 10 Physical Activity & Sports Studies (PASS) classes were given the opportunity to participate in the Sport NSW Girls Get Active Day program. This program was aimed to encourage girls to be active and participate in sports. At the Concordia Club in Marrickville, we met with five athletes who each shared some of their experiences in the sports they played and gave us inspiring advice. We met Bec Putna, a lacrosse player who plays for the NSW Wombats Lacrosse Team, Jada Whyman, a soccer player who played for the Western Sydney Wanderers, Janine Jamieson, a rugby player who is a member of the Inaugural Wests Tigers Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership Squad, Jorja Barrett, a softball player who plays for the NSW Under 19’s team and the Under 19's Aussie Spirit team as a pitcher, and Tracy Marsh, who does orienteering. After meeting these wonderful athletes, we received the opportunity to learn about their respective sports and play some games with the assistance of these amazing athletes. The excursion was an overall success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed participating in the games on the day.
