Principal's Message

Welcome to the web-site of Strathfield Girls High School. 

Strathfield Girls High School is a comprehensive secondary school committed to providing an excellent education for girls. 

Our school's motto, "Pass on the Torch of Life," highlights our commitment to quality teaching and learning for all in a safe, supportive and invigorating atmosphere that nurtures excellence.  We encourage our students to participate actively in their learning and to strive for personal best.   

We are proud of our long history of cultural, sporting and academic successes, which include outstanding achievements in the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate.

We offer a well balanced, holistic curriculum with a wide range of academic, sporting, creative, performing and co-curricular experiences, including leadership opportunities and training. In addition our strong welfare focus ensures that students are cared for, safe and happy at school. Our emphasis on citizenship and values such as integrity and cooperation, prepares responsible and caring young women who can make a valuable contribution to society. 

The school has approximately 90 staff members who are caring, experienced, innovative and devoted to meeting the learning needs of our students. Strathfield Girls High School is held up as a light-house school for progressive pedagogy and success. 

We have approximately 1,100 students from a variety of cultural backgrounds and approximately 86% of students have a background other than English.  Our students are highly focused on their studies, responsible and very supportive of each other and enjoy a harmonious environment where acceptance of difference is valued. 

The school enjoys strong community support, especially from parents, which enhances student learning. 

Staff, students and parents work closely together to inspire learning and develop student potential so that students develop into confident, capable young women skilled to pursue a variety of options.
